Credit Notes vs. Debit Notes in Saudi E-Invoicing: Differences, Uses, and ZATCA Requirements

What is the difference between credit and debit notes in Saudi e-invoicing? Learn when to issue each note, how they adjust invoice amounts and VAT, and what ZATCA requires.

In Saudi e-invoicing, a credit note reduces the value or VAT of a previously issued invoice, commonly for returns or subsequent discounts. A debit note increases the amount due when a justified upward adjustment is required.

Each note must reference the original invoice and include the required information. Under ZATCA Phase 2, applicable clearance or reporting procedures must also be followed. Cash Cloud provides invoicing and accounting tools, but ZATCA-compliant credit and debit note capabilities should be verified. Try Cash Cloud for free.
